What to Expect

IV Ketamine Infusions

  1. Initial Consultation – Our physician will review your medical history, discuss your symptoms, and determine if ketamine is right for you.

  2. Pre-Infusion Preparation – You'll receive guidelines on fasting, medications, labs, and hydration before your appointment.

  3. Arrival & Check-In – Upon arrival, you'll check in, complete any necessary paperwork, and have your vital signs taken.

  4. IV Placement – A small IV catheter is inserted into your arm or hand to administer the ketamine infusion.

  5. The Infusion Begins – The ketamine is slowly infused over 40-60 minutes.

  6. Sensory & Mental Effects – You may experience relaxation, dream-like sensations, mild dissociation, or changes in perception. Headphones, eye masks, or calming music can enhance the experience.

  7. Monitoring & Support – A trained professional will monitor your heart rate, blood pressure, and comfort throughout the session.

  8. Post-Infusion Recovery – After the infusion, you’ll rest in a quiet space for 20–30 minutes as the effects wear off.

  9. Aftercare & Transportation – Since ketamine can cause drowsiness, a responsible adult must drive you home. Avoid operating heavy machinery for the rest of the day.

  10. Follow-Up Plan – Your provider will discuss your response to treatment and schedule proceeding infusions accordingly.
